Profile
James Juergensen has served as director of secondary education at Concordia since the summer of 2003 and as the chair of the Department of Education since 2007. In his career he has served as a teacher and coach at St. Paul Lutheran School in Grafton, Wis., and Orange Lutheran High School in Orange, Calif., as well as serving as assistant principal at Milwaukee Lutheran High School in Milwaukee. Juergensen is actively involved in the Association of Lutheran Secondary Schools (ALSS).

Juergensen completed his doctorate in education from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee in August 2004. The focus of the doctorate program was "Leadership for the Advancement of Learning and Service". His dissertation was entitled "The Association of Lutheran Secondary Schools Leadership Development Series: A Study of the Program and Its Impact".
Juergensen was inducted into the Concordia University, Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004 for baseball and basketball.
