Preparing Servant Leaders for Church and World

On A Mission, a campaign for students and resources, is the largest and most comprehensive fund-raising initiative in Concordia’s history. On A Mission is the implementation tool to help Concordia move forward from its strategic plan and to secure the financial freedom for Concordia University, Nebraska to fulfill its mission.

Goal to build resources

On A Mission will help transform Concordia and put into place the necessary resources to

  • Expand the student body
  • Enhance the quality and strength of the university’s academic experience
  • Integrate academic content, the learning exchange experience, and continuously refine delivery methods

Benefits of On A Mission.

On A Mission will enable Concordia to implement its business plan and create tangible freedoms. It will continue to send forth graduates who will be a positive, Christian force in churches and communities throughout the world and in all professions – church work, teaching, business, medicine, music, science, art, communication and more. On A Mission will empower:

  • The university’s continued fiscal strength
  • An enhanced “Concordia experience”
  • A unique brand of servant leadership in the marketplace
  • A new generation of students to serve in the church and world.

Aims of On A Mission

Secure gifts and pledges for:

  • Endowment -- A healthy endowment is a mainstay, and even survival, of every truly exceptional institution of higher learning today. The Foundation is committed to ensuring that the university's future is secure by growing the endowment for scholarships, faculty and staff support, facilities and technology, unrestricted purposes and program support.
  • Annual funds for scholarships and operations-- The elimination of LCMS subsidy to the university demands that greater effort be made to underwrite current operations and student scholarships through the efficient management of tuition revenue and gift income.
  • Capital construction -- Advanced planning for the Health, Human Performance and Athletic Center is under way. Concordia’s Board of Regents gave its approval to break ground on the HHPAC in 2007 as long as fundraising and financing are in place.

Please join us On A Mission.

The time for those who love Concordia and believe passionately in helping it fulfill its mission to prepare servant leaders for the church and world are being asked to join us On A Mission. Its success rests largely with gifts that can be invested immediately. These gifts will:

  • enable Concordia to seize present opportunities and respond to current challenges; and
  • allow the university to maximize its opportunities to build an even stronger foundation in the major areas of endowment, annual scholarships and operational funds and facility construction.

Concordia is committed and asks for your partnership in advancing the vital mission of preparing servant leaders for the church and world. We’re On A Mission. Please join us!
